Go 0.6m high for anything with an audience standing up, and always budget for stairs. And if it is outdoors, ask about the cover — a wet stage ends a show faster than anything else.
Stage modules, heights and how many you need
Module sizes
Stage modules come in 1.2m × 2.4m rectangular blocks and 1.2m × 1.2m square blocks, so almost any footprint is possible — wide and shallow for a band, deep for a production, or a long catwalk.
Heights
Heights of 0.3m, 0.45m, 0.5m, 0.6m and 1m. The most common event height is 0.6m. A stage 0.6m or higher should have stairs, which we supply.
Finish
Stage blocks come with a black carpet top or black vinyl top and black skirting, so the stage looks tidy from the audience and on camera.
Display or single speaker
One 1.2m × 2.4m block is enough for a single presenter, a display stand or a small awards podium.
Speaker plus guest
Two blocks for an MC and a speechmaker — a wedding, a small awards ceremony or a panel of two.
Small band
Four modules for a small band or a DJ with performers. Larger bands, choirs and productions scale up from here.
Cover it
For outdoor events pair the stage with our 8m × 10m inflatable stage cover — it goes up fast, keeps the weather off performers and gear, and makes the stage the centrepiece of the event.
Stage hire questions
Do you set the stage up, or can I hire the pieces?
Both. Most customers take full stage hire with delivery, setup and transport by our crew. Event professionals can dry-hire the staging pieces they need — staging is the one part of our inventory we are happy to send out unattended.
Can you build a stage on uneven ground?
Yes — our modular staging has adjustable legs so the deck stays level on sloping grass or gravel. Tell us about the site and we will plan it.
Do you supply stairs and handrails?
Yes. Stairs are recommended for any stage 0.6m or higher and are included in the quote; handrails and safety rails are available.
Can you supply the sound and move everything as well?
Yes. Stage, PA, speaker towers and the transport to get it all there from one crew is the most common package we do.
